In an alarming development, a theft occurred in a strawberry field on Freitagstrasse in Zwickau-Pöhlau early on Tuesday afternoon. As the Free Press reports, a couple acting as con artists distracted the saleswoman and stole cash unnoticed. The fugitive perpetrators drove away in a gray Mercedes while the strawberry season was in full swing and numerous self-pickers were visiting the field.
Such incidents raise questions about the safety of stalls and strawberry fields. Especially at the beginning of the season, many people travel around the districts to pick the fresh strawberries themselves. The police therefore advise you to be particularly careful and warn against distracting people who could be traveling with dishonest intentions.

The descriptions of the perpetrators are similar: two unknown men, aged between 30 and 40, made off in a gray station wagon. One of them spoke broken German and had dark hair. The Limbach-Oberfrohna police have already been informed and are asking for information from witnesses on 03763 640.
