Young creative in Nienburg: actively design your future!

as part of the celebrations on the occasion of the 1,000th Anniversary of the city of Nienburg are called creative minds under the age of 27 to actively participate. The CTC area team Nienburg is calling up the young generation for participation, and the motto is: "My Nienburg-My Future". In this context, contributions in the form of songs, poems, drawings, collages, models, sculptures, films, dances or plays are desirable. The submissions can be submitted by September 30, either digitally via the Instagram account of the city (*Stadt_nienburg_weser*) or by email to *ctc@nienburg.de*. Further information can be found on the Website for the anniversary . The contact persons for questions are Peter Karaskiewicz and Sebastian Meyer.

The CTC program stands for "Communities that Care" and has been pursuing the goal since 2013 to create a safe environment for children and young people in the Nienburg district. This commitment is supplemented by a new children's and youth city plan, which was launched by the area team. The target group is especially children and adolescents aged 11 to 14 years.

Children's and youth city map

The new city map should grasp particularly popular and unpleasant places for young people. A first CTC student survey has shown that many young people feel little connected in their living area. With this plan, the individual perceptions of children and adolescents are to be documented, which is made available in both printed and digital form.

From June 23, the young people can send photos and descriptions of their favorite places or fear of fear to the CTC team. The project period runs until October 31, and an information event will take place on September 7th in the Sprotte meeting center. This enables a further step towards participating and designing your living environment, which can be an important experience for the participants.

participation as part of democracy

The comprehensive participation of young people is of great importance in a democratic strength. In the current debate about youth participation, it is underlined that the municipalities are central places for say and design. According to Jugendgerecht.de , the implementation of the UN Kinder Rights Convention (Art. 12), which is determined by the right to listen, is a legal obligation for the municipalities.

It was found that there are gaps in participation in young people because they are often not heard sufficiently. It is therefore important that projects such as the children's and youth city plan in Nienburg not only capture the votes of young people, but also promote their integration into society. The possibility of actively experiencing participation also strengthens social cohesion and ensures more proximity in local politics.
