A serious traffic accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon in Berlin-Lankwitz when two Mercedes vehicles collided at the Frankenhauser Straße and Tautenburger Strasse intersection. resident Stefan Erlebach and his neighbor Manuela Feike heard the impact and immediately hurried to help. The doctor even had to cut the airbags with a cutter knife to get to the injured. After the emergency services were long in coming, even a rescue helicopter circled over the scene of the accident. Tautenburger Straße was closed to traffic to secure the rescue measures.

frequent accidents and missing measures

Erlebach and Feike reported that Tautenburger Straße, which is only six meters wide, is unfortunately a common goal of traffic accidents. Just two weeks ago, the two residents had submitted an application for speed limit 30 in this street to the Senate Transport Administration, which was, however, rejected. "We are pissed off the decision," said Erlebach frustrated to the local media.

The other driver's circumstances is currently not available. The accident brings a recurring problem to light that not only affects Berlin, but also occurs in other regions, such as a fatal incident on the A 49. In this tragic accident, caused by a false driver, several vehicles were harmed by the collision. A 23-year-old car driver died, while his 23-year-old passenger and other inmates were seriously injured, but could be taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Investigations and traffic safety

The police were also in action to examine the serious accident on the highway, while an expert from the Kassel public prosecutor was commissioned to reconstruction the action. The reason for the wrong direction of the 25-year-old driver remains unknown and is being further researched. Overall, the damage is estimated at around 50,000 euros. Such incidents underline the need to improve traffic safety and ensure that appropriate measures are taken to prevent such tragedies
