Scandal in wine hike: harassment and violence in Randersacker!

On Thursday afternoon, May 29, 2025, there was an unfortunate incident during a wine hike in Randersacker, Würzburg district. An approximately 30-year-old man molested a young woman by giving her the butt at around 4:45 p.m. When the woman asked the man to refrain from this, he insulted her and showed no understanding of her reaction. Infranken reports that the Situation escalated about half an hour later without warning.

The perpetrator is about 30 years old and is described about 175 cm tall. At the time of the crime, he wore a brown T-shirt and a peaked cap with the inscription "Dad".

the stone wine path

The wine hike took place as part of the known Steinweinpfades , which is characterized by its scenic beauty and cultural highlights. The path consists of an eastern and a western loop. The eastern loop leads over stairs and smaller steep tracks, while the western route runs on an almost flat route. This enables hikers to make their tour flexible because it is possible to start with several places of the circular route.

As a parking space recommendation, the winery on the stone is recommended for the longer route and the Schlosshotel Steinburg for the shorter route. The starting point at the Stein winery proves to be ideal because it offers a panoramic view of the city of Würzburg. The route runs through the “Würzburger Stein” location to the grape variety garden, which provides information about the regional grape varieties. In addition, the hike runs parallel to the slope and leads past the historic vineyard "Tusculum", where the winegrowing practices of past centuries are illustrated.

diverse leisure activities

In addition to the stone wine path, the Würzburg region offers numerous other hiking trails. würzburg.de lists various tours, including:

  • around the Marienberg fortress: 9 km with varied garden landscapes and views of vineyards.
  • around the Käppele: 10 km, well -developed hiking trails over the Nikolausberg.
  • around the Marienberg fortress and the Käppele: 14 km with asphalting because of too important sights.
  • Romantic wine towns in the Franconian wine country: 14 km, section of Via Romea, a historic pilgrimage path.

The incidents during the wine hike have thrown a shadow on the nature experience, which is characterized by the attractive surroundings of the Steinweinpfad and the surrounding area. The crime ensures concern and hope for increased security measures at future events in the region.
