Verden, Deutschland - The social department store in Verden is faced with significant change: on June 1st, the newly founded Social Association Verden The sponsorship of Arbeiterwohlfahrt (AWO). This step has become necessary because the AWO gives up the department store for economic reasons. The current employee Lavinia Lorent and a group of volunteer volunteers are committed to continuing the department store.

The Social Association Verden was founded to continue the valuable work of the department store. A CEO has already been elected: Norman Adam leads the association, which consists of twelve founding members and is open to other members. In the initial phase, the club will finance itself; The first editions are worn by Lorent and her husband.

The department store will maintain its name and the existing offers for customers remain unchanged. Weekly sales campaigns, a new logo and the establishment of a website are planned to increase visibility. The opening times remain the same: Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with additional hours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The social association calls on potential supporters to provide donations in the form of clean, well -preserved clothing, books, toys and baby items. Household items are also only accepted in small quantities. In addition, there are other volunteers in order to be able to maintain the opening times.
