Record visitors at JOBChance 2025: Altenburg attracts skilled workers!
The “JOBChance” 2025, the most important trade fair for work, training and commuters in the Altenburger Land, recorded a rush of visitors on August 30, 2025. 1,723 guests gathered in the festive ambience of the Golden Plow, setting a new record for the event. The 88 exhibitors, including companies, educational institutions as well as authorities and associations, were at least equally enthusiastic about the lively interest in their offerings. Simply put, there was a happy atmosphere and a high level of energy when it came to recruiting the skilled workers of tomorrow, as Altenburger Land reports.
The trade fair, which took place for the fourth time, aimed to present the extensive potential of the district. The visitors were able to find out about the prospects and future opportunities on the training and labor market. Last year's figures show that popularity has steadily increased in recent years; in 2024 there were still around 1,500 visitors. The stable interest in the available training places is particularly pleasing and shows that there is a great need for workers, especially in the manufacturing industry as well as in construction and healthcare, according to reports from abg-net.
High response and exciting offers
The exhibition was supported by well-known companies, all of which are looking for talented minds. Apollo Gößnitz GmbH stated that it had serious interest in four job advertisements, while Thüringer Fiber-Trommel GmbH Rositz even noted an increasing number of interested parties compared to previous years. Länderbahn GmbH reported a high level of interest in retraining, while Habitels Hospitality Management Service GmbH from Berlin, which made its first trade fair appearance, recorded positive surprises about the numerous applications for hotel positions.
Another highlight was the high demand for the training occupation of agricultural service specialist at Agroservice Altenburg-Waldenburg. The company plans to participate again next year to further expand the opportunities. AWA e.V. also observed a significant number of visitors, especially at the orientation courses, and also announced its return to the trade fair.
Innovations and support for applicants
Special attention was paid to the new orientations at the trade fair. The visitors were able to be supported by trade fair pilots who were available as contact persons. Linguists helped with translations into German, which was particularly beneficial for international specialists. IBAT Ost also offered recognition advice and experts checked the application documents of those interested.
The “JOBChance” 2025 was not only a platform for numerous job offers, but also offered many support options for families and applicants. The next trade fair is already planned for 2026, and with the positive experiences from this year's events, it will be exciting to see what will be presented next year.
