Bernhard Heisig: Celebrate a century of artistic heritage in Leipzig

Leipzig, Deutschland - Bernhard Heisig, who was born on March 31, 1925 in Wroclaw, is one of the most influential artists in German post -war history. His career as a painter, graphic artist and teacher leaves remarkable traces in the art scene. Heisig was a rector at the University of Graphics and Book Art (HGB) and had a decisive influence on training in the visual art. The important artist died on June 10, 2011 in Strohden, Brandenburg.

As part of his 100th birthday celebrations, the exhibition "Birthday Life with Ikarus" is shown in the Museum of Fine Arts in Leipzig, which runs until June 9th.
