The group “Freyer Franker Bunch” reached Bad Frankenhausen on Friday evening. This special troop, consisting of up to 20 people, is currently following in the footsteps of the Peasants' War, which began in the spring of 1525. After a two-day hike from Bad Neustadt an der Saale to their destination, the group received free accommodation and meals in all nearby locations. Their route took them through picturesque towns such as Meiningen, Schmalkalden, Bad Salzungen, Eisenach, Mühlhausen and Sondershausen. An exhibition on the topic of “Peasants’ War” is currently being held at the Bad Frankenhausen Regional Museum and will run until August 17, 2025.
