Visibility in the dark: High-visibility vests for Eichsfeld elementary school students!
On November 4, 2025, there was several exciting news from the region that show how important security and community engagement are. Particularly noteworthy is the TÜV Thuringia initiative, which was implemented in Leinefelde on Monday.
In an important campaign to improve road safety, the elementary school students at Fuhlrott Elementary School received bright yellow high-visibility vests. This measure aims to increase the visibility of first graders on the road, especially during the dark winter months. Traffic expert Marcel Schauffler emphasized that these warning vests make a decisive contribution to promoting the safety of children. A look at Thuringia's accident statistics shows how urgently such measures are necessary: Last year, 40 school-age children had an accident on their way to school.
Commitment to children's safety
By distributing a total of 50 high-visibility vests to the Fuhlrott primary school, TÜV Thüringen is not only contributing to the safety of children, but is also showing its commitment to prevention projects in the area of traffic safety. These vests are intended to help young students better assess dangers in traffic and move around more safely.
In addition to this positive news, the new board of the DRK local association in Brehme is coming into focus. This was recently elected and is headed by Werner Freundlieb as chairman. He is supported by Marko Tasch (deputy), Sandra Frank (treasurer) and Theresa Koch (secretary). The DRK plays an important role in the community and the new leadership will certainly make a difference.
Other events at a glance
There is also a lot to experience in the region outside of these important security initiatives. On November 16th, the pilgrimage meeting of the Eichsfeld Walldürn pilgrims will take place in Küllstedt, which begins at 10 a.m. with a church service. In addition, on November 7th, Duderstadt invites you to a nocturnal journey through time, which starts at 10 p.m. at the historic town hall and scores with exciting stories. The Göttingen Night of Lights is also scheduled for November 7th from 5 p.m., with impressive light installations and musical highlights - entry is free.
These events and initiatives not only promote coexistence in the region, but also set an example for security and a sense of community. It's always nice to see how many people are committed to making local life safer and more lively.
