Diverse cultural week: Experience concerts and festivals in Eichsfeld!
An exciting week full of events is coming up in the Göttingen region. In addition to sporting activities and concerts, cultural heritage is also celebrated. From Tuesday to Sunday, citizens in many places can expect highlights that provide a variety of entertainment.
On Tuesday, June 24th, the program begins with the patron festival of the parish of St. Johannes Baptist Immingerode at 3 p.m. in the rectory, followed by a celebratory mass in the church. Coffee tables and social gatherings are very welcome. On the same day there will also be a summer concert by the Eichsfeld-Gymnasium in the Ballhaus Zum fidelen Anreischken, which will offer visitors musical performances from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday is marked by the first social fair in the historic town hall, Duderstadt, where citizens can receive free support with applications and advice on social benefits.
Colorful diversity and intercultural events
In the middle of the week, on Wednesday at 3 p.m., the St. Cyriakus community and an agricultural company invite you to their events. For music lovers, a summer concert by Camerata Medica is offered in the auditorium on Wilhelmsplatz at 7:30 p.m., while the “Jazz starts” event in the Apex begins at 8:15 p.m. The pianist Gerrit Zitterbart and satirist Klaus Pawlowski appear here.
Thursday is dedicated to “Open Sound”, which begins at 3 p.m. on the Göttingen weekly market square and is primarily designed for children and young people. From 8 p.m., the Berlin singer-songwriter Dota Kehr will give a concert that will enrich the evening hours with sounds. Another highlight follows on Friday, June 27th: the Cologne band Pelemele will create a good atmosphere at the weekly market square at 3 p.m.
Jewish cultural days and culinary delights
The week places a special focus on the Jewish Cultural Days, which take place over the weekend and present the klezmer group Nochem’s Klesmoreß. This is a wonderful opportunity for people to learn more about Jewish life and cultural traditions. The cultural days are also supplemented by lectures and readings that offer interesting insights. Halle is also mentioned in this context, where the 4th Jewish Cultural Days is entering the next round with an opening concert by the Grammy-winning “Klezmatics”. Here visitors can get to know Jewish life in Halle and Saxony-Anhalt and look forward to various events that include music and culinary delicacies.
The Jewish Cultural Days in Berlin are planned for next year and will feature over 40 events celebrating the cultural heritage of the Jewish community. The opening on September 12, 2024 will be accompanied by Shiri Maimon, which increases the anticipation of an eventful festival under the motto “Light”.
This colorful mix of events shows that there is a lot going on in Göttingen, Duderstadt and beyond. Whether musical performances, cultural insights or social celebrations – there is something for everyone. Stay tuned for program information and plan your participation in these exciting events.
