What an exciting discovery in Erfurt! In the case of excavation work in Domstrasse, construction workers met with a very special archaeological find: a triple -nice bronze pot, also known as grapes. peculiarity of the find

The suction excavator that was used ensured that the bronze pot hardly caused any damage. A conventional excavator would probably only have left shards. The pot is currently being restored by the TLDA, with the last residues of corrosion being removed. The complete restoration could take several weeks and takes place under the microscope to carefully examine the material nature.

The grapese pot is part of the upcoming exhibition "Navel of the World. Erfurt's archaeological treasures" in the Erfurt City Museum "Haus zum Stockfisch". But be careful: the exhibition can only be visited by the end of June 2023, so it's worth it quickly!
