Eisfelder Schloss opens after 140 years for a spectacular museum night!
On Saturday, September 6th, the annual Museum Night will take place at Eisfelder Castle. This year something very special is on offer, because for the first time in 140 years a tour of all the buildings in the castle is being organized. A unique experience for art and history enthusiasts that all visitors can benefit from.
Entry to the event is free, which makes the event even more attractive. The highlight is the opening of the special exhibition “Dreiklang” in the newly renovated central building, which once served as a prison. This exhibition shows creative works by three renowned artists: Brigitte Parsche, Benedikt Solga and Gabriele Just. Their works can be admired until April 5, 2026 and address the dialogue between different art forms, such as painting, sculpture, printmaking and woodcuts. The aim of the exhibition is to perceive differences and discover similarities as the different forms of expression interact with each other.
A feast for the senses
The exhibition promises to open up new perspectives for the audience. The works are presented spatially separated, but connected through a subtle dialogue. Visitors can experience how painting impresses with its color and surface, while plastic impresses with its shape and volume. Woodcuts, on the other hand, captivate through contrast and structure.
The evening will be accompanied musically by the duo “Jojo” from Sachsenbrunn, who will ensure a good atmosphere. In this festive setting, your physical well-being is also well taken care of. Children have the opportunity to get creative in the Red Salon while doing crafts and painting. In addition, the keep, the castle tower, is open during Museum Night and invites you to explore.
Cultural events in Saarland
In the context of Museum Night, the offerings in Saarland are also important. Events take place there regularly, e.g. B. in the Saar Historical Museum, the modern gallery in Saarbrücken or in the Völklinger Hütte, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Such opportunities provide insights not only into regional history, but also into contemporary art forms. Saarland is known for its diverse cultural offerings, ranging from exhibitions to workshops to culinary highlights.
The next major events include creative workshops, special exhibitions and cultural festivals, such as the Urban Art Biennale, a highlight for street art fans. The upcoming Museum Night in Saarland on August 24, 2024 also promises to be an exciting event that will open the doors to various museums until late into the night.
All in all, the Museum Night at Eisfelder Castle offers an excellent opportunity to experience art and culture up close and also learn something about the history of the place. Take the chance and come by – there is a lot to discover!
