On Thursday evening, September 18, 2025, a significant fire broke out in a metal factory in Hildburghausen. Lengthy extinguishing measures
A report from in southern Thuringia describes that the fire probably originated in the company's silo. Here, aluminum residues were burning and fell onto the floor of the workshop, further fanning the fire. Several fire brigade teams, equipped with breathing apparatus and heat protection suits, were necessary to cut open the silo and cool the fire with CO₂. The extent of the damage remains unclear at this point, which is a source of great concern for those responsible for the company.
