New roof for Masserberg's bathhouse: The renovation is in full swing!

On Thursday, the third of a total of six hats was put on a new tent hood. The industrial climbers of a Rosenheim special company are at work with full enthusiasm to put the roof of the bath house back into a perfect condition, such as Insuedthueringen.de reported.

After two hats have already been equipped with a new membrane, the remaining three are up to September. One floor rests under the roof during the work, so that the old materials can only be cut out after the new fixation has been completely fixed. The financial aspects are also not to be neglected: the total costs for the new tent roof amount to 3.7 million euros. The municipality of Masserberg takes over 2.4 million euros, while the rest is covered by the state of Thuringia.

The bathhouse itself has not been put into operation since 2016, since the high operating costs made another existence impossible. Now, however, the construction work has started. Mayor Denis Wagner (CDU) gives MDR Thuringia Regarding the progress. The intermediate walls and cladding are currently being removed before the actual conversion begins.

Originally, a reopening for the past year was considered, but due to the general delays due to increasing construction costs and the energy crisis, the schedule had to be changed. The plans were completely revised and expensive projects such as an infinity pool and outer saunas were canceled. Instead, the existing technology is housed in the basement of the building, which is also a cost -saving measure.

The total cost of the project is around twelve million euros, with most of the financing also coming from the state. The extensive renewal of the roof was added to increase energy efficiency. The Masserberg bathhouse could soon shine not only more modern, but also more environmentally friendly in new light.
