Jena shows itself: Benefit calendar supports hospice work in 2026!

The Jena public utilities will continue to actively support hospice work in the coming period. The new charity calendar for 2026, designed by the talented photographer Tino Zippel, not only aims to present Jena's photographic art, but also to collect important funds to support the inpatient hospice in Jena. This initiative already has a positive tradition, as the calendar is now being published for the sixth time and last year raised an impressive 12,000 euros for the hospice through sales and auctions Jena public utilities reported.

The new calendar shows Jena in its most beautiful moments: from the mystical fog over Göschwitz to the wonderful rays of sunshine in Lobeda. The individual motifs, including a historic tram that is proudly celebrating its 125th anniversary, as well as a view of the vibrant city center from the high-rise on Inselplatz, offer a varied picture of the city. Each copy sold also brings in a contribution: two euros per A2 and A3 calendar and one euro per A5 calendar go directly to the hospice.

Art and heart for hospice work

The publication of Tino Zippel's works also goes beyond the calendar. An exhibition will take place in the Goethe Gallery from October 6th to 25th, where 30 large-format photographs will be on display. These pieces will also be auctioned off to benefit the hospice. Six smaller formats are also available, opening up the opportunity to purchase art while supporting a meaningful cause.

The importance of hospice care cannot be overstated. 95% of the costs for inpatient hospice are covered by health insurance companies. However, the remaining amount must be raised through donations. Visiting hospices like the one in Jena shows how necessary it is to create support and a humane environment for terminally ill people. This work requires a listening ear, understanding and financial resources to ensure dignified care like that Johanniter point out.

Local social responsibility

With a price of 8.50 euros for the A5 calendar, 14.90 euros for the A3 calendar and 21.90 euros for the A2 calendar, there is something for every budget. The calendars will also be available in several Rewe branches in Jena from November, so everyone has the chance to obtain these works of art and support a good cause at the same time. The sales points include the Pressehaus at Holzmarkt 8, Thalia in the Neue Mitte and the Goethe Gallery as well as the online shop readershop-thueringen.de.

Supporting hospice work has been considered important for years. The hospice movement was born out of the need to provide comfort and dignity to people in the final stages of life. During the time of saying goodbye, relatives are often confronted with grief and questions. This is where professional grief counseling comes in to support the bereaved and makes it clear how essential financial support through such initiatives is.

It remains to be said: If you enjoy beautiful pictures and want to do good at the same time, you have found a simple, beautiful option by purchasing a charity calendar!
