Stadtwerke Jena: Budich and Sack extended for five years!

In a groundbreaking decision, the Stadtwerke Jena Group has prematurely extended the management contracts of Claudia Budich and André Sack. This was decided unanimously by the supervisory bodies of Stadtwerke Jena GmbH and Stadtwerke Energie Jena-Pößneck GmbH. Claudia Budich will continue to work as Managing Director of Stadtwerke Energie from June 1, 2026 to May 31, 2031. André Sack will manage the business from February 1, 2027 to January 31, 2032. These measures are intended above all to signal continuity and strategic reliability, describes stadtwerke-jena.de.

Mayor Dr. Thomas Nitzsche highlights the experience and commitment of the management duo. Stadtwerke Energie Jena-Pößneck GmbH plays an important role in supplying Jena and the surrounding area with electricity, natural gas and district heating. The company also relies on innovative supply solutions and the expansion of renewable energies, which is particularly important with regard to the energy transition.

Innovative projects for the future

The municipal utilities not only stand for a reliable energy supply, but also for innovative projects that contribute to the energy transition. This is how the interdisciplinary project “JenErgieReal” was launched, which deals with promoting the energy transition in urban areas. This project was recently presented at the Federal Government's Digital Summit 2023, which underlines the importance of this project, as gb23.stadtwerke-jena.de reports.

In addition, the “InSchuKa 4.0” project is in progress, which deals with the digitalization of wastewater handling. This measure is a direct response to climate change and demonstrates the city's commitment to technological advancements.

Social responsibility and social cohesion

In addition to its technological focus, the municipal utilities are also committed to social issues. With the opening of the first two health apartments in Jena-Lobeda, a further step towards a smart district has been taken. Stadtwerke Jena GmbH has also joined the “Cosmopolitan Thuringia” initiative. This initiative aims to promote diversity and democracy in the Free State, which represents an important contribution to social responsibility.

In a further step, a digital annual report was published that not only shows the company's progress and highlights from 2023, but also provides transparent information about the challenges and future projects.

In summary, it is clear: Stadtwerke Jena relies on continuity in leadership and innovation in energy supply. With its diverse projects and commitment to renewable energies, the company makes a significant contribution to sustainable development in the region.
