Ahrensburg youth diving team celebrates successes at the VDST federal youth meeting!
The Ahrensburg diving youth won big at the 2025 federal youth meeting of the Association of German Sport Divers (VDST) in Nordhausen. On June 9, 2025, enthusiastic divers gathered at the picturesque Lake Sündhäuser to enjoy a varied program. The event, which ran from June 6th to 9th, was meticulously organized, starting with the logistical preparation, which included the transport of 1.4 tons of equipment, including two large team tents and camp beds. In order to arrive on time for the welcome on Friday evening, the journey started on June 5th with a 9-seater bus.
What was on the agenda at the meeting? On Saturday, the participants were able to, among other things, jump into the lake while “bathing”, take part in exciting diving and apnea workshops, and enjoy a convivial atmosphere at a barbecue evening and a night dive. Of course, the classic cozy moments couldn't be missed, such as roasting marshmallows around the campfire and playing the game “Werewolf”. On Sunday there was a cardiopulmonary resuscitation course and plenty of other opportunities to try out diving.
Successful training and new contacts
The Ahrensburg young divers were also able to celebrate some successes as part of their training programs: One participant received the German Diving Badge (DTSA), while three others were able to take home the DTSA Apnea. The positive feedback from the participants was extremely pleasing. The beautiful lake, the exciting dives and the new acquaintances from other clubs were highly praised. The organizers of the VDST deserve great thanks for their excellent work and the smooth cooperation throughout the entire event.
A special highlight in the future will be the TSGA's snorkeling training. Interested young people can take part every Friday from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., while for adults the training times are every Tuesday and Friday. There is further information on the TSGA website: tsga.de.
Outlook for 2025
The diving community is already preparing for 2025. For the TLN diving athletes there are not only exciting competitions, but also numerous exchange programs. These not only promote the technology in diving, but also the team spirit among the young people. Personal data is processed in accordance with the regulations of the GDPR in order to ensure secure communication and implementation of the events - an important concern that should also be mentioned at this point.
Overall, the Ahrensburg divers look back on a successful weekend and are excited about the challenges and events to come. You can tell that diving has a permanent place in the heart of the community!
