A serious incident occurred on Tuesday evening, July 16, 2025, in Mühlhausen. At 10:45 p.m., a 23-year-old pedestrian crossed Windeberger Landstrasse at the level of the cross street. As Tixio reports, the young man noticed an approaching red Opel too late. Although the driver initiated emergency braking, he was no longer able to avoid the collision. The pedestrian suffered minor injuries and had to be taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The course of the accident raises questions: Why did the driver flee the scene of the accident in breach of duty after the incident? The Unstrut-Hainich police station has now initiated investigations into traffic accidents and negligent bodily harm.
