A serious traffic accident in the Saale-Orla district caused a stir on Friday afternoon. Loud stern.de There was a head-on collision between two vehicles on the L1108 highway. A 69-year-old driver was seriously injured and had to be taken to hospital in a rescue helicopter.

The day started like any other, but suddenly a dramatic incident occurred. For unknown reasons, the 69-year-old left the side of the road and collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle. The force of the impact threw his car into the ditch, where the fire department had to intervene to free him from the vehicle. Fortunately, the occupants of the other car only suffered minor injuries, but were also taken to hospital to be checked.

More accidents in the region

Not far from this incident, on the B281 between Neustadt an der Orla and Oppurg, another serious accident occurred. A 25-year-old driver was involved in a head-on collision here, in which tragically a 67-year-old passenger died at the scene.
