On the night from Friday to Saturday, a break-in in Schmalkalden caused quite a stir. Between 8:45 p.m. on Friday evening and 6:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, unknown people broke into two basement compartments of an apartment building on Marienweg. The perpetrators gained access by force and left behind rich loot: from one of the compartments they stole a blue Pedelec as well as beer and wine with a total value of almost 4,000 euros.
