Elementary schools Roßdorf and Schmalkalden celebrate with new jerseys!
Berkach, Deutschland - The 17th primary school soccer tournament of the districts of Schmalkalden-Meiningen and Rhön-Grabfeld took place on June 13, 2025 in the picturesque Berkach. The district administrator Peggy Greiser not only admired sporting talents, but also awarded two primary schools as the monthly winner of the “Movement Calendar 2024” campaign. As part of this campaign, the elementary school Roßdorf and the Schmalkalden primary school each received a class set of jerseys, which are proudly provided with the splash region logo. These honors are an important part of the initiative to promote the movement among schoolchildren in the district, such as Rhokanal reported.
A look at the individual winners reveals a lot of creativity and commitment. The Roßdorf primary school had won in November while performing an inspiring winter sports week in physical education. Among other things, roller boards and relay games were used, which not only promoted the joy of movement, but also strengthened the team feeling. The handover of the jerseys took place in the presence of headmistress Annette Erichsen and was ceremoniously inaugurated at the football tournament.
engagement in sporting activities
The Schmalkalden primary school, which was awarded in October, put in class on school-over-the-cord tournaments for grades 2 to 4 and also worked with the Schmalkalder volleyball club to continue the movement topic "Small Games". At this official handover, teacher Ilona Funke and sports teacher Tobias Eckhardt were present, who proudly presented the new jerseys at the tournament with their students, as LRA Schmalkalden-Meiningen also noted.
But the commitment does not end here. The primary schools in Zella-Mehlis and Kaltenwestheim also received jerseys as part of the movement calendar campaign in order to further promote participation and fun in sport. The movement calendar was initiated by school sports coordinator Sebastian Hardt and is an excellent way to motivate students to make more physical activity. The monthly award rewards schools for creative and sporty contributions that promote both team spirit and initiative.
integration and goals of the movement calendar
The "Movement Calendar 2024" campaign, which is strongly supported by the district office, awarded the most creative implementation of a sport from the movement calendar of the German sports youth. This is intended to strengthen the school sports offers and promote awareness of exercise in school. The district office encourages further schools to participate in this valuable initiative, from which not only the children benefit, but also strengthened the entire class community.
The movement calendar campaign shows impressive successes, such as the Frankenheim primary school, which was awarded to rowing, canoeing and windsurfing for its innovative implementation of the juni sports. Here, rolling boards and equilibrium exercises were worked, which motivated the children extremely. The monthly winner received a jersey set worth around 320 euros for her creative implementation, supported by the district office and the Rhön-Rennsteig-Sparkasse. Such successes underline that movement is not only healthy, but also prepares joy and promotes team spirit.
