Young politician Ruppert brings a breath of fresh air to Dermbach's politics!
In the small community of Dermbach, the political landscape is changing. The young politician Alexander Ruppert, born in 2001, ensures that a breath of fresh air blows through local politics. In 2024 he completed his bachelor's degree in forestry at the Technical University of Dresden and is now studying for a master's degree in wood technology and wood management. He was also the youngest member to be elected to the municipal and district council, making him one of the youngest municipal councilors in the Wartburg district.
Ruppert's commitment stands out above all because of his goal to make local politics more transparent. “It's about making it easier for citizens to access information about local issues,” he explains. To achieve this, information from local council meetings will be regularly presented online in a new video format. This not only promotes citizen participation, but also fits into today's times when transparency in politics plays more of a role than ever. The term transparency includes open communication between political actors and citizens and is considered essential for a functioning democracy described there becomes.
News from the last council meeting
The last municipal council meeting took place on October 22, 2025. Various topics were discussed here, including the renovation of the Felda Bridge in Dermbach, which urgently requires improvements. In addition, the attendance fee for local councilors was increased by 9 cents to €25.09. Another important point at the meeting was the adjustment of the regulation for the public announcement of municipal council meetings. In the future, the announcement will only be made digitally and on notice boards in the castle and in the administration building.
A drastic decision also concerned the Dermbach municipality's withdrawal from the technology and start-up support company (TGF). Dermbach transfers its 13% shares to the city of Schmalkalden and receives a sum of €54,600. Schmalkalden plans to take over the company completely and continue it. The companies' existing rental agreements remain in effect, so that economic operations are not at risk.
Preview of future projects
An exciting topic is the repeal of the consideration and statute resolution to change the development plan “Behind the Gap” in Unteralba. The local authority supervisory authority has pointed out differences in the amended plan that now need to be revised. This shows how important it is that all planning details are communicated transparently in order to strengthen citizens' trust in the local council.
If you have any questions, suggestions or criticism, Alexander Ruppert can be reached at any time at a.ruppert2001@gmail.com. Open communication is very important to him because it promotes exchange between politicians and the population. That's exactly what the citizens want and that's exactly a step in the right direction for political transparency in Dermbach.
