The fascinating world of finches: Rolf Böhm-Beck's life's work

Rolf Böhm-Beck, a passionate glassblower and passionate black-finch breeder, lives in a charming little house in Lauscha in the Sonneberg district. He has been dedicated to breeding these colorful birds, especially the popular Gouldian finch, for 50 years and has won numerous awards during this time. The early days of his breeding in the GDR were anything but easy, but his persistence paid off. Today, his home is decorated with beautifully colorful aviaries, in which, in addition to Gouldian finch, diamond finches, dwarf reed finches, butterfly finches, belted grass finches and dwarf nuns live their lives. The melodic songs of these little feathered friends can be heard everywhere in Rolf and Suse Böhm-Beck's house, which creates a very special atmosphere. Speaking of atmosphere, an exhibition that will showcase some of his Gouldian finch is being planned and is likely to attract many bird lovers to the region.

A master of glassblowing

The love for glassblowing runs through the biography of Rolf Böhm-Beck, who not only specializes in breeding birds, but is also an experienced artist. Lauscha, known for its glassblowing tradition, offers him the ideal environment to let his creativity run wild. This combination of artistry and animal passion makes him an enriching part of the community.

But there is also exciting news outside of Lauscha. Royal expert Richard Eden has leaked exciting insights about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's new deal with Netflix. How Us Weekly reported on August 11, the partnership with the couple has been expanded to a long-term first-look deal. This deal guarantees Harry (40) and Meghan (44) payment, but only if their projects are commissioned. The announcement could be a clever move by Netflix to end the collaboration if the pair fails to deliver interesting content.
Meghan preemptively announced that she and Harry are proud of their extended partnership and have new projects planned. Among other things, the second season of “With Love, Meghan” will premiere this month, which is also planning a Christmas special for December.

Agility in talent acquisition

In a completely different scene, Talent Acquisition (TA) executives meet to discuss agile strategies. A recent “How to Build an Agile Talent Acquisition Strategy” forum in Atlanta focused on how to meaningfully adapt their recruiting approaches to the changing needs of the industry. Loud Talent Connections Topics such as the use of “flex recruiters” and strategic collaboration with external service providers such as Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) were part of the exchange.

The discussion also focused on the challenges that remote and hybrid working poses to team culture. The exchange of personal stories, the integration of external employees into the teams and regular meetings to review progress are central to creating a feeling of belonging and avoiding isolation. In an increasingly dynamic recruiting environment, these approaches are crucial to making recruiting quick and effective.
