Craftsman evening and bird shooting: A festival for Sonneberg on July 8th!

Sonneberg, Deutschland - Celebrate the hands-on and the support of the craft will soon be on the program in Sonneberg! On Tuesday, July 8, 2025, a very special craftsman evening will take place as part of the 181st bird shooting. Here the craftsmen in the region come together to not only celebrate with each other, but also to honor deserved colleagues.

The festive evening begins at 6 p.m. with a tap beer tapping by the district master craftsman Mario Hähnlein in the beer tent on the shooting range. As expected from the friends of the craft, chiefs of craft businesses can acquire discounted brands for food and drinks. Among other things, two sausages or liver cheese are offered with sauerkraut and bread.

The honorary event is a highlight of the evening: trainees, young journeyman as well as their trainers and the silver and gold craftsmen are recognized for their excellent performance. Vice Mayor Christian Dressel emphasizes the great importance of craft for our society. The evening also offers the opportunity to participate in the everyone's shooting of the privileged shooting club Schießhaus Sonneberg 1851, which takes place from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The 181st Sonneberger bird shooting begins on Saturday, July 5th, at 4 p.m. with a loud fireplace shot. On the opening day, visitors will be entertained musically by the band "The Ants" and the musician René Warkus. The laser show will be an absolute highlight at 11 p.m. In addition, the day of the Franks will take place on Sunday, July 6th, with a rifle parade and the proclamation of the new king.

Visitors from all over the region are cordially invited. For those who come from further, there are a variety of accommodation options. Whether in the cozy hotel or in a holiday apartment, the selection leaves nothing to be desired. Important for all visitors: The Schießhausplatz will be closed to bird shooting until July 25th. Even during the planned fireworks on July 11th from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m.
