Thieves gain access: Unusual incident in Suhl!

On Monday night there was an incident in Suhl that could shake the residents' sense of security. Unknown thieves tried to break into a garage complex below the residential area at Himmlreich. They drilled holes in the door of a garage. According to police spokeswoman Anne-Kathrin Seifert, however, there was no break-in and it is unclear whether the burglars obtained information about the contents of the garage through the holes created. As reported, two surveillance cameras outside two garages were also stolen, raising questions about how good security in the area really is. Witnesses who can provide information about the incident are asked to call (0 36 81) 36 90 inSuedthueringen reported.

The security situation in Germany has improved in recent years, but the numbers speak for themselves: a break-in occurs every seven minutes. According to ALMAS INDUSTRIES, the last few years have been characterized by a decline in the number of burglaries, which is partly due to the pandemic-related lockdown. During this time, many people were at home more, which made things more difficult for burglars. But commercial properties in particular became more attractive because they were often empty and housed valuable items.

Safety technology and preventive measures

Against this background, the discussion about security technology is becoming increasingly important. Daitem offers innovative alarm systems such as the D20 & D26 that are specifically tailored to the needs of business owners. Wireless alarm systems that can be installed without structural changes are now very popular and provide effective protection against burglary and vandalism. These sensors are not only suitable for homes, but also for commercial properties, campers or even boats, as Daitem explains.

Another notable detail is the high number of unreported break-in attempts: around 42.2% are not reported. Especially when it comes to residential burglaries, this number is around 27.5%. This shows that many of those affected did not have the courage to report the incident or did not have sufficient protection to react quickly.

Joint efforts against crime

The low clearance rates for burglaries - only 17.4% manage to resolve them - make it clear how important security precautions are. Therefore, ALMAS INDUSTRIES recommends installing comprehensive security systems that include not only alarm systems but also strategically placed cameras to deter burglars and make it easier to identify perpetrators.

It remains to be seen whether the crime statistics will also show a positive development in Suhl. Together, society is called upon to counteract the widespread problem of break-ins through technical solutions and a greater awareness of security. Everyone can do their part to make their own home and neighborhood safer.
