A truck accident is currently causing chaos on the region's highways. Today, November 12, 2025, there was a serious incident on the A73 between Rödental and Neustadt in which a truck overturned. The accident occurred on Wednesday morning and the exact cause remains unclear, reports NP Coburg. While the driver was trapped in the cab, the emergency services managed to free him. The driver suffered at least minor injuries while cleanup efforts are still underway. Traffic in the direction of Suhl is currently suspended.
However, this is not the only incident that is currently keeping drivers on tenterhooks. Another truck accident occurred on Monday evening, November 10th, on the A73 near Forchheim. A 36-year-old driver was traveling towards Bamberg when he left the road due to a punctured tire and crashed into the outside guardrail. The vehicle damaged the plank over a distance of around 100 meters as well as the noise barrier, resulting in material damage of at least 100,000 euros, as InFranken reports. Fortunately, the driver was uninjured, but the northbound motorway had to be completely closed for a time while rescue and cleaning work lasted until around 3 a.m.
