Test drive in the snow: The electric slope bully inspires in Oberhof!

Oberhof, Deutschland - June 30, 2025 brings a breath of fresh air to Oberhof, where the snow -covered trail is already being worked on in summer. A very special prototype is tested here: the Pistenbully 100 E, an electric slope vehicle from Kässbrer, which cannot yet be purchased. The Erlkönig has exciting technical properties that could revolutionize winter sports.

With a price of an expected 450,000 euros and a market tires Introduction in two years, this slopes bully sets new standards. Heiko Schacht, an employee of the Thuringian Winter Sports Center (TWZ), admits that the slope bully is still fighting technical problems, including difficulties when starting and empty batteries. Moisture could probably penetrate the battery compartment, which bothers the company. Despite these hurdles, the interest in environmentally friendly technology cannot be broken.

innovative technology and environmental friendliness

The Pistenbully 100 E is the first fully electric slope bully, and it is a true model in terms of efficiency. With three electrical engines and hydrostatic power transmission, efficiency improves around 20 percent compared to conventional models. The range per load unit is increased by the same extent, which makes the slopes bully particularly attractive for operators of ski areas. This piste bully is not only emission -free with 0 g CO2 per hour, but also offers a minimum of only two hours at 100 kW. If the battery is full, it can work for up to three hours - depending on the electricity consumption.

Interestingly, it has a variable speed of 0 to 20 km/h, which can be adjusted continuously. This enables precisely and adapted operation on a wide variety of slopes.

The competition does not sleep

Not only Kässbrer pursues the goal of sustainability. Prinoth, another experienced manufacturer in the slope vehicle industry, recently presented Husky E-Motion, the first market maturity fully electric slope vehicle worldwide. With a special production line in the French Alps, Prinoth works on a new large electric slope vehicle that is to be presented in December 2025. In partnership with CDA, the company strives to be climate -neutral by 2030 and thus support ski areas in their environmental goals.

  • the Pistenbully 100 E:
    • Price: approx. 450,000 euros
    • market launch: expected in two years
    • Technical problems: difficulties starting, empty batteries
    • main features: electrical drive, emission -free, variable speed

Oberhof once again proves to be an innovative place for winter sports, where new technologies are tested and sustainability is very important. Despite initial difficulties, the Pistenbully 100 E has the potential to change the future of slope care sustainably. While the development is progressing, the eyes of the winter sports community are excited about the next steps in the electrical slope trip.
