Dream of your own campsite: Naturcamp Lenkgrund opens in Ilmenau!

Ilmenau, Deutschland - A dream becomes true: the "NaturCamp Lenkgrund" in Ilmenau is open! With a lot of passion, Claudia and her husband from Thuringia realized their long -cherished wish for their own campsite. Since the purchase of the site of a former natural swimming pool in 2018, they have made numerous trips and have incorporated their experiences as a passionate campers into the project. But as is the case in life, there were also some hurdles to overcome that delayed the conversion of the square for several years. The work could not be started until 2024 and now, a year later, the campsite blooms.

The interest in the new campsite was remarkable from the start. Reports from various media, including the MDR, accompanied the project and documented the development. All 20 parking spaces were already awarded for the big opening day. Some interested parties could even be rejected, the demand was so great. The campers are now in the remains of the former swimming pool, in which the old stairs are still witnessing.

The offer in the natural camp

The "NaturCamp Lenkgrund" offers a combination of natural experience and modern amenities. It is located right on the Rennsteig in the Thuringian Forest and has space for tents, motorhomes, caravans and even tinyhouses. Although the campsite was only freshly opened, not all areas have already been completed because the construction work is still in various places, including the old swimming pool. For bookings by July 3, it is advisable to contact us by phone to secure a place.

For all curious people there will be an open house on June 28 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. On this occasion, interested parties can get to know the new campsite and look forward to a day full of handicrafts for the children and meals. Admission is free, which makes the offer even more attractive.

Camping in Thuringia

The "Naturcamp Lenkgrund" is seamlessly joined the new camping card for Thuringia, which was recently published. This card comprises 65, scenic campsites that not only offer beautiful parking spaces, but also well -kept sanitary facilities. The map is part of the Thuringian Wald 2025 tourism concept and is intended to represent valuable support for regional tourism.
