Careers fair in the Wartburg district: Opportunities for every career seeker!

Today, September 17, 2025, it's that time again: the 11th careers fair "Let's talk about..." opens its doors in the district council hall of the Wartburgkreis district office. This event offers an excellent opportunity for anyone who wants to develop their career. Originally designed for people with a migration background looking for work, the fair is now open to anyone interested, regardless of origin, age or professional background. Organized by various actors such as the Diakonisches Bildungsinstitut Johannes Falk and the job center, the fair is an important contact point for around 250 expected visitors.

As in previous years, participants can look forward to a wide selection of exhibitors. Around 20 companies, educational institutions and institutions will be on site to provide information about their offers. This platform not only serves career orientation, but also personal encounters between applicants and potential employers.

Opportunities for young people with a migration background

A central theme of the trade fair is the challenge that many young people with a migrant background face when it comes to entering the professional world. Statistics show that this group has worse chances of getting a training place than their peers without a migration background. Above all, there are often difficulties in the transition to training and during the training period, such as this BIBB reported. Successful integration into the labor market is crucial for social inclusion.

To counteract these challenges, numerous programs and initiatives are offered to facilitate access to vocational training. These range from language courses and application training to individual coaching during training. There are also various grants from the federal, state and local governments that are tailored to the special needs of young migrants and refugees.

The role of refugees in the labor market

Another important aspect concerns the refugees who arrive in Germany. Around 85 percent of this group already have relevant professional experience. However, they often have difficulty getting their qualifications formally recognized, which makes it more difficult to enter professional life. How IRC Germany explains, there is increased emphasis on individual support to make it easier for refugees, especially women, to enter the world of work.

This involves industry-specific training and various support options, which also include career planning. The initiatives help to promote economic independence and long-term integration into the labor market. The careers fair offers an ideal platform to get to know such offers and to make direct contacts.

The fair will take place today from 9:45 a.m. with a welcome by the organizers and entry for visitors from 10 a.m. Until 3 p.m., participants can find out first-hand information about training and job opportunities and receive valuable tips for their professional future.
