Wartburgkreis distributes 5,000 preventive homework books to students!

There is reason to be happy in the Wartburgkreis region: almost 5,000 primary school students can look forward to a preventive homework book that is intended to help them not only with learning, but also with personal development. This initiative is the result of collaboration between specialists from various areas of prevention, which once again shows how important it is to comprehensively support children. How wartburgkreis.de reports, the booklet was designed to be child-friendly and offers numerous thematic additional pages that are based on the children's different reading skills.

The creative magazine covers a wide range of topics - including bullying, children's rights, friendship and environmental protection. But practical parts, such as a birthday calendar and space for friends, are also included. An exciting insight into sign language and welcome greetings in different languages round off the offer. The first copies were given by the district administrator Dr. Michael Brodführer ceremoniously handed over to students at the Dermbach primary school.

Introduction event

A particularly happy event recently took place at the Förtha elementary school, where district councilor Martin Rosenstengel handed over the first booklets to class representatives. At this festive event, the children sang a song, which emphasized the positive mood. This year too, the booklets were introduced in two versions for classes 1-2 and 3-4 rhoenkanal.de notes.

The idea for this project came about in 2021 as part of the Childhood Specialist Group, which is part of the Wartburg District Prevention Network. This group is made up of school social workers, educators, family counselors and other professionals who work together to ensure the safety and well-being of children. The organizational processing is in the hands of Maike Schmidt and Kevin Rodeck from the social planning department of the district office.

Social responsibility

The need for such measures is underlined by the current societal challenges. According to a report on bildungsserver.de The willingness to use violence among young people is growing, and bullying has developed into a mass phenomenon. Politicians are finding it difficult to address these serious problems, which is why preventive approaches such as homework books are of great importance. They not only offer children help at school, but also in social matters.

The project is financed via the social strategy guidelines, the district budget and the Partnership for Democracy in the Wartburg District. This ensures that future generations can also benefit from this valuable resource. The preventative homework book is therefore not just a simple learning tool, but a step towards a safer and healthier environment for our children.
