Chorin Music Summer 2025: Classical highlights in a historic monastery!

The Chorin Music Summer 2025 promises another highlight in the classical music event calendar. On June 16, 2025, just a few days until the opening concert, music lovers can look forward to unique performances in the picturesque surroundings of the former Chorin monastery. Every year this festival, about 50 kilometers from Berlin, attracts renowned orchestras and artists such as the Staatskapelle Weimar, the Dresdner Kreuzchor and many more. The event is not only a treat for the ears, but also a wonderful experience for all the senses.

The long tradition of the Choriner Musiksommer, which now looks back on 62 editions, is particularly important. This year's celebrated artists include well-known orchestras such as the Staatskapelle from Halle, the Staatsorchester from Cottbus, the Frankfurt (Oder) Orchestra and the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra. Concerti reports that the program includes works by great composers such as César Franck, Saint-Saëns, Hugo Wolf and Alphons Diepenbrock. This gives the festival an exciting musical variety.

Concert highlights in detail

A special highlight will be the concert on June 22, 2025, which will take place in the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Refectory. From 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., visitors can experience the overture to “The Fairy Tale of the Beautiful Melusine” by Mendelssohn, the Concerto for Violin, Cello and Orchestra in A minor by Johannes Brahms and the Symphony No. 1 in B major by Robert Schumann. Conductor Simon Gaudenz will lead the musical scepter, while soloists David Castro-Balbi (violin) and Alexandre Castro-Balbi (cello) will enchant the audience.

Before the concert, visitors have the opportunity to get in the mood for a concert introduction at 2:15 p.m. Ticket prices vary depending on the seat category and are between 13 and 47 euros, with discounts of 4 euros each. Wheelchair parking spaces and free tickets for children up to 6 years of age are available for special needs. Bookings can be made by telephone or email. Chorin Monastery points out that it is subject to change, so it is advisable to inform yourself in advance.

A celebration of classical music

The Chorin Music Summer is just one of many fascinating events in the field of classical music in Germany. In addition to this festival, music lovers benefit from other renowned events such as Mozart Festival in Würzburg, which is considered the oldest and largest of its kind, or the Handel Festival in Halle, which is a monument to the great baroque composer. Each of these festivals not only offers musical delights, but also a special atmosphere and often impressive historical backdrops.
