Rot-Weiß Erfurt: New talents and squad changes before the start of the season!
The wave of anticipation is rolling! Rot-Weiß Erfurt began preparations for the new regional league season on June 23rd, and the signs point to change. An exciting phase begins for coach Fabian Gerber, as he wants to bring a breath of fresh air into the team with his new assistant coach Nils Weiler on the sidelines. The first new recruits have already arrived at the training ground - three out of four new talents were present on time for the first session.
But the squad is not yet optimally positioned. “We are not entirely satisfied with the current status,” says Gerber, who is particularly looking for defensive reinforcements. A left full-back and a versatile central defender who can also play in defensive midfield are at the top of his wish list. Particularly painful departures are Robin Fabinski, who is moving to VFL Osnabrück, and Jeremiaha Maluze, who is moving to Eintracht Frankfurt's U21s. These gaps need to be closed as quickly as possible.
New arrivals and talents
With Boipelo Mashigo, Raphael Assibey-Mensah, Artur Golubytskyi and Sejdo Durakov, the club has fresh talent in the squad. The first three newcomers in particular have already completed training in Erfurt. Assibey-Mensah, on the other hand, is still undergoing rehabilitation. The goal of those responsible is to quickly integrate these new additions. A training camp in Weißensee should help to strengthen team cohesion, because, as everyone knows, team spirit is everything!
Squad and statistics
A look at the expected squad reveals interesting details: the average of the entire team is 22 years old, and the total market value is estimated at 1.05 million euros. A small excerpt of the squad values by position:
| position | Average age | Market value |
|---|---|---|
| goalkeeper | 19.5 years | €25,000 |
| Defence | 22.3 years | €325,000 |
| midfield | 21.0 years | €50,000 |
| Storm | 23.0 years | €650,000 |
Overall, the average market value per player is 70,000 euros, and the transfer balance so far shows no income, but minimal expenses of one euro. A solid foundation for the desired season!
The club is constantly faced with the challenge of positioning itself strongly in regional football and challenging the stronger teams. “We want to offer good and attractive football,” said Gerber. Only with this attitude can Rot-Weiß Erfurt impress on the pitch and take the fans on the journey into the new season. Who knows, maybe one or two surprise moments await you!
