Rail replacement: massive construction work disturb train connections!

In the coming weeks, the public transport network in North Hesse faces a few challenges: From Monday, July 7th, travelers will have to expect significant restrictions on rail traffic between Volkmarsen, Wolfhagen and Zierenberg. The construction work, which continues until Sunday, August 16, affect the regional train line RB4 as well as the regional tram line RT4 .

The regional trains of the RB4 are temporarily stopped and only run between Korbach Hauptbahnhof and Volkmarsen as well as Ahnatal-Weimar and Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe. For the eliminating connections between Volkmarsen and Ahnatal-Weimar, passengers must switch to buses from rail replacement (EV) that keep between Wolfhagen and Zierenberg. Unfortunately, this means longer travel times for everyone who depends on these routes.

In the direction of Volkmarsen, the bus stops on the "Schäfergasse", while the "Kuhlenberg" stop is headed towards Wolfhagen. In Volkmarsen-Ehringen, too, adjustments are made due to confinement to improve the transfer situation.

From July 28th, the second construction phase begins, in which the section between Vellmar-Obervellmar and Kassel Hauptbahnhof is affected via the Harleshäuser curve. Here the trains of the RT4 and RT1 trains are affected, while the RB4 is not restricted. For this section there is also an additional replacement traffic with holding in Kassel-Jungfernkopf and Kassel-Harleshausen.
