Weimar breathes a sigh of relief: No new corona cases – incidence at 0.0!
Anyone who was still up to date with the Corona situation in Weimar and all of Thuringia was surprised on July 11, 2025. Loud news.de There were no new infections in Weimar compared to the previous day. With a 7-day incidence of 0.0 per 100,000 inhabitants, the city seems to be coping perfectly with the current situation. The total number of people who have tested positive so far is 28,534.
The situation in Thuringia is similar. Here, too, no new cases were reported on the same day, leaving the 7-day incidence at 0.5 per 100,000 inhabitants. Attentive observation of new variants
But the pandemic doesn’t sleep. This week, the new Corona variant Nimbus (NB.1.8.1), which has been classified as a “variant under observation” by the WHO since January 2025, was discovered. The Robert Koch Institute emphasizes the importance of constantly monitoring such variants in order to be able to react at an early stage.
A look at the number of intensive care beds in Weimar shows: Of a total of 15 intensive care beds, 10 are currently occupied, but none by COVID patients. This results in an occupancy rate of 92%, which is currently a worrying number. This data, which is updated regularly, comes from, among others Corona-in-Numbers.de, where the current infection situation can be tracked closely.
Vaccination rates – a ray of hope for the population
The vaccination rate in Germany remains an important issue. According to current information, 76.3% of the population had received basic immunization by April 8, 2023. In a region like Thuringia, where vaccinations are making progress, the status is just as encouraging. Almost 71.6% of the population has received at least one vaccination. At this point we would like to point out the Robert Koch Institute's informative platform VacMap, which helps to identify and close vaccination gaps. This data is not only important for professionals, but also provides valuable insights for the general public.
