Animal protection association Delmenhorst: New board for a better future!

The Tierschutzverein Delmenhorst has set new course for the future at its annual general meeting. Andreas Warneke, the long -time first chairman, resigned. Marc van der Velde, who previously worked as a treasurer, was elected as his successor. The position of deputy chairpersons has also experienced a change: Nadine Scheuer has given up her office, Sanda Peley will now take on this role. Claudia Sztokoski was also elected as the new secretary. Gaby Skora succeeds Lena Hollmann as an assessor, who also resigned. Burkhard Liebau was won as a new treasurer, while Ulrike Büthe-Classen remains the press spokeswoman. Despite the changes, Warnke, Scheuer and Hollmann will remain connected to the club because they want to raise more time for the animals.

A review of the projects of the past year reveals the active role of the association in animal welfare. The largest construction projects included the roof renovation of the animal protection courtyard and the cultivation of a new lounge for employees and visitors. In addition, a chicken enclosure for a Brahma tap called Kermit and four hens was built. The animal protection association was also able to gain the support of the “In harmony” foundation, which pays part of the personnel costs for three new employees.

emotional reviews and new projects

In the emotional back on the animal stories of the past year, a naked dog as well as two rescued rabbits and 36 small cat children were mentioned. The summer festival, which shone with a visitor record, was also highly emphasized. New projects are already being planned for the current year: This includes the expansion of a fourth cat house with an outdoor enclosure and the expansion of the dog area by three additional enclosures with runs.

In the context of animal welfare, it is essential to talk about the species -appropriate attitude of animals such as horses. In Germany, horses are banned because they need important social contact with fellow species. Horses should be moved freely every day to secure their well -being. Furthermore, adequate care and feeding is essential to prevent behavioral disorders and health problems. The cost of attitude can quickly reach four -digit amounts per month, which underlines the responsibility of the owners. According to the German Tierschutzbund , the needs of horses are not to be underestimated and should always be observed.

The role of animal welfare organizations

In Germany there are many organizations that are seriously committed to the well-being of animals, such as the Deutsche Animalschutzbund , which acts as a roof organization of the animal welfare associations and works for the integrity and appropriate attitude of all animals. Its 16 regional associations and over 740 local animal welfare associations are committed to comprehensive animal welfare. The association not only promotes the species -appropriate lifestyle of animals, but is also actively committed to protecting animals in agriculture, research and private households.

The Tierschutzverein Delmenhorst sets a strong sign for the well -being of the animals and proves that animal welfare is a joint task in which each individual is required.
