The importance of the shooting festivals
shooting festivals are very popular in Germany and make up a significant part of social life. There are over 15,000 shooting clubs that usually align a big festival every year. The process often remains constant: the celebrations begin with a betting shooting that serves to choose the new rifle king, followed by festive meals and moves. This tradition, which has its roots in the Middle Ages, is very popular to this day and attracts many people. Especially in Bavaria, Lower Saxony, the Sauerland and Westphalia, numerous rifle festivals take place, which are often also publicly accessible and strengthen the community.
The Wilstedter Schützenfest is a prime example of this tradition and offers both the members and the entire community the opportunity to find together, celebrate and celebrate local culture. It remains to be seen how many participants are expected this year, but the anticipation is already clearly noticeable.
