open water swimming as a seasonal highlight

Despite the national focus of the German Swimming Association (DSV) on the World Championships in Singapore, which take place in July, the European Championship in Croatia is very important for many athletes. In the past, the DSV has not given the continental title fights the same status. But the field of participants is top -class.

The Swiss Association Swiss Aquatics is also intensively preparing for the European Championships. Athletes such as Christian Schreiber and Paul Niederberger have already performed well with the World Cup qualification in Ibiza. The following competitions are pending for you:

  • 28. May, 2:00 p.m.: Men 10 km
  • 29. May, 3:00 p.m.: Men 5 km
  • 30. May, 3:00 p.m.: Men 3 km Knockout

The competition times are based on a preliminary schedule and can still change. The European Championships are an important season highlight and serve as a location for the athletes on the way to the World Cup.

With the introduction of new formats and the competition in such a fantastic backdrop, the European Championship in Stari degrees is certainly a success for the open water swimmers in Europe.
