New citizen participation consultant in Speyer: These plans are imminent!

Maximilianstraße 12, 67346 Speyer, Deutschland - Since 2022, Speyer has a contemporary consultant for citizen participation with Sabrina Albers. She heads the mayor's office and is committed to a more active involvement of citizens in political processes. Michael Lo Grasso, who previously held this position and has been living in Speyer for nine years, has also shown interest in citizen participation and thus beat an important bridge to the concerns of the population. The move of the city library is currently the focus of political discussions, with opinions within politics divergent. In connection with these debates, the former foundation hospital is also mentioned.

The city of Speyer has the goal of further promoting the participation process with an event series. Several appointments are planned in March 2025, starting on March 11, on which different topics are dealt with that affect the citizens directly. These meetings take place in the Brilliant Spaces (House Trinitatis) and should give citizens the opportunity to bring their opinions and ideas.

A long -term participation process for the former foundation hospital started in March 2023 and extends over at least two calendar years. The first step in this process was a survey that took place from March 31 to May 1, 2023. The results are published on the official website.

In the coming months, further significant dates will be scheduled, including a meeting in the Committee on Urban Development, Building and Conversion on April 30, 2024 and an expert hearing on the assessment on August 29, 2024. On December 3, 2024, the presentation will also take place, in which four potential uses will also be discussed.
