search measures

The alarmed police units, including the police inspections in Nuremberg-Ost and Nuremberg-Mitte as well as the Ansbach deployment train and the Bavarian riot police, carried out immediate investigations after the incident. The first criminal police measures and the securing of evidence were initiated by the Middle Franconia criminal service. Despite these extensive measures, the perpetrator has so far remained at large. In view of the current threat situation, the request for help is particularly important.

The development of crime in Germany also shows that such incidents give citizens a feeling of uncertainty. According to the police crime statistics (PKS), Germany recorded a decline in registered crimes by 1.7 % in 2024 to around 5.84 million. However, there is a worrying increase in crimes that affect people's feeling of security. The PKS only records the crimes known and edited by the police, which means that many far -reaching crime issues remain in the dark field. Nevertheless, thefts and property offenses are still the most common crimes in Germany.
