Construction work in S-Bahn traffic: Significant restrictions from July 4!

Schöneweide, Berlin, Deutschland - The S-Bahn in Berlin will face major challenges in the coming weeks. Due to construction work, there are noticeable restrictions on five lines. These measures are necessary to build a new electronic signal box in the area of the S-Bahnhof Schöneweide. According to Berlin Live , train traffic between Schönau and Grünau and Grünbergallee is completely stopped. The construction work takes place from Friday, July 4th at 9:45 p.m. to Monday, July 7th at 1:30 a.m.

During this time, commuters have to adjust to replacement traffic by bus. A replacement bus line has been set up for the S46 that runs between Schöneweide and Grünau. The stops are Sterndamm (Schöneweide), Wagner-Régeny-Allee (Johannisthal), Rudower Chaussee (Adlershof) and Richterstraße (Grünau). Another bus line between Schöneweide and Grünbergallee runs for the S9, which also serves the Ewaldstraße and S-Bahn station Altglienicke. In order to avoid inconvenience, the passengers are encouraged to find out more about the S-Bahn app or on the notices in advance.

additional construction work and timetable changes

But that's not all! A look at the coming weeks shows that there are additional restrictions between Warschauer Straße and Westkreuz. From June 17th to 20th and from July 1st to 4th, there will also be changes to timetables between 1:45 a.m. and 3:40 a.m. And that is only part of the plan to modernize the S-Bahn network. S-Bahn Berlin has announced a variety of construction sites and thus also timetable changes that are distributed over the month of July.

For the Teltow City to Lankwitz route, there will be further interruptions from July 4th to July 7th, followed by further construction activities on July 11th and 12th. The S-Bahn line Gesundbrunnen to Nordbahnhof will also be affected at night.

tips for commuters

commuter and travelers should always stay up to date and check the information about the S-Bahn traffic regularly. Before getting into the replacement buses, the passengers should make sure that you buy your tickets in advance, as no tickets are sold on the bus.

The ongoing construction work should ultimately increase the quality and safety of the Berlin S-Bahn network and improve the everyday mobility of the users. It is only to be hoped that all passengers have a good knack when switching to the buses.
