Construction site chaos in Berlin: S-Bahn cancellations on the Ost-Ring until July 14th!

From July 11th to July 14th, 2023, the Storkower Straße S-Bahn station will be under construction work. During this time, the municipality will carry out several measures that will particularly affect the East Ring of the S-Bahn in Berlin. How berlin live reported, the construction project includes the replacement of damaged sleepers between Storkower Straße and Ostkreuz. In addition, both the foundation and the platform surface will be renewed and the grinding of switches at the Ostkreuz is on the agenda.

This construction period has a direct impact on S-Bahn traffic: There will be no S-Bahn traffic between Ostkreuz and Landsberger Allee until Monday, July 14th, 1:30 a.m. The lines S41, S42, S8 and S85 are affected. A replacement bus service will be set up for travelers, which will stop at all canceled train stations and also at Möllendorffstrasse. The good thing: During peak times the buses run every five minutes, but at night it can take a little longer.

Practical advice for travelers

Anyone wishing to travel on these replacement buses should note that tickets cannot be purchased from the driver. In addition, special attention is paid to strollers and wheelchairs, which have priority. Further significant changes are also coming between July 18 and 21, 2023. There will be interruptions on the Ringbahn in Tempelhof as work is being carried out on track crossings and cable ducts. The affected lines are S45 and S46, as can already be seen at sbahn.berlin remove.
