Berlin in a state of emergency this weekend: Rave, Lollapalooza and Formula E!

At the weekend, Berlin is all about music and movement. While the techno parade “Rave the Planet” and the Lollapalooza Festival create a great atmosphere, Formula E will also conquer the city with its exciting E-Prix. However, for everyone who is looking forward to celebrating, there are a few important pieces of information to keep in mind.

“Rave the Planet” will take place today, July 13, 2025, from 2 p.m. and starts on Straße des 17. Juni between the Großer Stern and the Brandenburg Gate. The slogan “Our Future Is Now” stands for a celebration of electronic music culture that also wants to convey political messages: the focus is on the preservation and recognition of electronic music culture as well as the promotion of diversity, peace and solidarity. What is certain is that the parade is not registered as a party, but as a cultural-political demonstration, which is why the streets also have to be closed. To ensure that this world-class event runs smoothly, numerous closures have already been put in place from Friday evening at 6 p.m.

Important closures and diversions

From Friday evening, drivers in Berlin must be prepared for the following closures: Yitzhak-Rabin-Straße, Pariser Platz, Ebertstraße (between Dorotheenstraße and Behrenstraße), Straße des 17. Juni and Platz des 18. März. However, the Great Star remains accessible on Friday evening. Further closures will also apply from 9 a.m. on Saturday and will remain in effect until after midnight.

  • Ebertstraße (zwischen Lennéstraße und Behrenstraße)
  • Hannah-Ahrendt-Straße (zwischen Wilhelmstraße und Ebertstraße)
  • Behrenstraße (zwischen Wilhelmstraße und Ebertstraße)
  • Großer Stern
  • John-Foster-Dulles-Allee (zwischen Scheidemannstraße und Yitzhak-Rabin-Straße)
  • Paulstraße (ab Lüneburger Straße in Richtung Großer Stern)
  • Spreeweg (in Richtung Großer Stern)
  • Hofjägerallee (in Richtung Großer Stern)
  • Straße des 17. Juni (ab Bachstraße in Richtung Großer Stern)
  • Altonaer Straße (ab Bachstraße in Richtung Großer Stern)
  • Bartningallee/Flensburger Straße (in Richtung Altonaer Straße)
  • John-Foster-Dulles-Allee/Scheidemannstraße (zwischen Spreeweg und Yitzhak-Rabin-Straße)

Planning your journey in good time is therefore essential for everyone involved. However, the closed areas should be reopened from Sunday morning.

Music and motorsport in focus

Parallel to the parade, the well-known Lollapalooza Festival takes place at the Olympic Stadium, providing another venue with great music and entertainment. The Brandenburger Tor and Bundestag subway stations may be closed for festival visitors on Saturday afternoon and evening, so they should also be informed in advance.

Another highlight of the weekend is the “2025 Hankook Berlin E-Prix of Formula E” at the former Tempelhof Airport. Motorsport fans can look forward to an exciting competition on a 2.345 km route with 15 corners. The races take place on Saturday and Sunday from 8.30 a.m., tickets are available from just 21 euros.

So this weekend the city will experience a true festival of music and movement, with the diversity and liveliness of culture at the forefront. Whether at the parade, in the Olympic Stadium or at Formula E – there is something for every taste. Berliners are warned to keep an eye on the streets and enjoy the celebrations to the fullest!
