Berlin is not Salzburg”: Three days of music, theater and party in the Federal Archives!

Things will get hot again in Berlin next year, because the anarchic, inclusive music and theater festival “Berlin is not Salzburg” opens its doors from July 11th to 13th, 2025. Organized by Glanz&krawall GbR, the event takes place in the former Stasi headquarters in Lichtenberg, the so-called Campus for Democracy. Here, Mozart's famous “Magic Flute” will shine in a new light, complemented by exciting performances and shows. A real highlight for everyone who has a good feel for art and society.

The motto of this festival is as motivating as it is provocative: “Humorous approach to the ‘Salzburgization’ of Berlin.” Don't worry, everyone is welcome here - regardless of previous knowledge, account balance or social status. The aim is to reach a wide audience in order to deal with social trials and the contribution of art to these topics. The combination of music and theater is complemented by a variety of exciting actors, such as the punk supergroup “THE TOTEN CRACK WHOREN ON THE UNICORN FARM” and the including “THEATER THIKWA”, who bring a breath of fresh air to the program.

A look at the program

The schedule for the weekend is packed. The gate to the festival opens at 5 p.m. on Friday, July 11th. From 6 p.m., visitors can expect the first performance of “The Magic Flute,” followed by an exciting celebration until midnight. There's no shortage of fun on Saturday and Sunday either: bodybuilding and parties in the "Spaceship" await festival visitors, and the final performance and a follow-up discussion invite you to reflect on what you've experienced.

The aim is to create a magnificent work of art that not only reflects the works of individual artists, but also focuses on life and the challenges of society. A topic that has also become more important in recent years and is now at the forefront of the art scene is inclusion. While the festival invites visitors to think about social issues, there is a clear trend towards greater acceptance and diversity, as a look at the art scene makes clear. KunstPlaza also highlights how important such initiatives are for the representation and responsibility of art in our society.

Although the ticket information is not yet specified, we are sure that it will be worth taking a look at the online resources. The commitment of the artists and the exciting interaction between the various groups in particular make “Berlin is not Salzburg” an event that should not be missed.
