In the early morning hours of June 11, 2025, there was a break-in into a jewelry shop on Dreiborner Straße in Schleiden-Gemünd. Unknown perpetrators hit a window at 3:05 a.m. and lifted out the metal grille. The removed grille was discovered in an adjacent hedge. The perpetrators also manipulated the alarm system before escaping with a series of marriage and earrings. The property damage is estimated to be a low five-digit euro range, while the perpetrators fled towards the Kurpark. The police describe one of the perpetrators as male, less than 30 years old, about 170 cm tall, with dark hair and Mediterranean appearance. He was wearing a gray shirt and gray/black jogging pants.

At the same time there was an attempted break -in into a jewelry shop on Kölner Strasse in Weilerswist, which was committed between the afternoon of June 9 and the morning of June 10th. A large crack was found in the shop window, but the perpetrators were unable to get into the building. Details on property damage in Weilerswist are not yet known. The Euskirchen police are examining a possible mate between these two incidents and has investigated.
