Bus crash in Berlin: Eleven injured after a risky maneuver!

A serious traffic accident occurred on July 4, 2025 at around 1:20 p.m. in Berlin when a Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) bus collided with an unknown driver on Otto-Suhr-Allee in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf. According to Zeit, the driver drove into the special bus lane without signaling, causing the bus driver to brake sharply to avoid a collision.

The sudden braking caused numerous passengers on the bus to fall. A total of eleven people were injured, including seven women and one man between the ages of 17 and 80. Eight injured people required outpatient treatment in hospitals, while a 17-year-old girl, a 61-year-old woman and an 80-year-old man were treated at the scene of the accident. Despite the seriousness of the accident, the driver of the vehicle involved fled the scene of the accident without permission, as the Berlin police reported.

Investigations are ongoing

The traffic offenses department of Police Department 2 (West) has started an investigation to locate the fleeing driver. Traffic accidents like this illustrate the importance of paying attention on the road.

The situation on Berlin's traffic roads remains tense, as the statistics from Statistik Berlin-Brandenburg show that a total of 6,152 traffic accidents were registered in Brandenburg in April 2025, which represents a decrease of 1.7% compared to the previous year, but the number of accidents with personal injuries rose by 1.4% to 779. What is particularly noteworthy is that that 1,005 people were affected by the accidents, which means an increase of 3.8%.

The current situation makes it clear that road safety remains an important issue. While serious accidents are easing, the number of people injured from other causes remains worrying. The Berlin public transport company and the police appeal to all road users to be careful and follow the traffic rules.
