The two MV handball players Matthes Langhoff and Max Beneke, who emerged as U21 handball world champions in July 2023, must be particularly emphasized. They not only achieved national successes, but also contributed significantly to the title win of the foxes. The U21 Handball World Championship of men, which has been organized by the International Handball Federation (IHF) since 1977, is an official competition for male players under the age of 21. Germany was able to win the final against Hungary in 2023 and thus secure the third world championship title.
Surprising performance in the European League
In another remarkable appearance, the Foxes Berlin surprisingly won 33:30 against Dinamo Bucharest in the European League. This victory came just 30 hours after her return from Super Globe in Saudi Arabia, and coach Jaron Siewert had not expected such a strong performance. U21 world champion Tim Freihofer scored ten goals in this game and exceeded the superstar Mathias Gidsel, who only contributed six goals.
Preparing for the game was not optimal because Siewert had not seen or contacted the team before the kick -off to give them the necessary relaxation. Freihöfer explained that the game preparation and the video meeting took place two hours before the kick-off in the hall. The foxes were also allowed until Friday before they traveled to Kiel to play their next game on Sunday.
The impressive achievements of the players and the success under coach Jaron Siewert show that the foxes Berlin are well positioned not only for their history, but also for their future.
