Border controls: two arrests and high fines on the motorway!

On Wednesday, June 4, 2025, the federal police carried out numerous arrest warrants as part of temporary border controls. A 36-year-old German who traveled to the Breyell junction on Autobahn 61 was sought because of an arrest warrant from the Berlin public prosecutor. He was able to avert a 25-day sentence by paying a fine of 1000 euros for a violation of the compulsory insurance law on site. After payment he was allowed to continue his trip.

In addition, a 40-year-old Bulgarian was checked on Autobahn 3 at the Knauheide rest area. He was sought by the Würzburg public prosecutor's office for tax evasion and paid a fine of 2150 euros to continue his onward journey after entering the Netherlands.
