Münsterland shines: NRW is presenting itself at the Green Week 2026!

In January 2026, the Green Week in Berlin will celebrate its 100th anniversary. North Rhine-Westphalia, a region that is characterized by its diversity and innovative strength, will once again be in the spotlight. Minister Silke Gorißen will represent the state and highlight the strengths of North Rhine-Westphalia's agriculture and food industry. The presentation takes place under the motto "MÜNSTERLAND. THE GOOD LIFE.", with Münsterland traveling to Berlin as a partner region. State of NRW reports that the region is being put in the right light not only as a place to work, but also as a place to live and holiday.

Companies and initiatives from NRW will present their high-quality products on a total of 1,200 square meters. The focus is not only on delicacies such as cheese, ham and fish, but also on a range of beers and spirits. The extensive stage program should provide additional momentum, with cooking shows and hands-on activities for young and old.

A quick look back at 2025

Lower Rhine gourmet region highlights that various associations and institutions from the Lower Rhine presided over the fair. We are particularly proud of the participation of companies from Wesel, which demonstrate regional diversity. Minister Gorißen also had the honor of presenting North Rhine-Westphalia's state presence here.

The Green Week, which was launched in Berlin in 1926 during the Roaring Twenties, has now developed into one of Germany's most traditional trade fairs in the areas of food, agriculture and horticulture. The official appearance of the trade fair is not only a showcase for modern agriculture, but also a forum for current social challenges such as climate protection and sustainable use of resources.

A look at what's to come

The 90th edition of Green Week will take place from January 16th to 25th, 2026. A highlight of the trade fair will be the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA), which is organized by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture. This forum attracts agriculture ministers from around the world and is an important place for discussions about the future of agriculture and food. The anticipation for the trade fair is increasing and North Rhine-Westphalia will consolidate its position as a leading country in the food industry.
