New dream home in Berlin: art and design in the Tacheles complex!
In the heart of Berlin, in the up-and-coming district around the Am Tacheles complex, an architectural gem is being built. The impressive complex, designed by renowned architectural firms such as Herzog & de Meuron, Grüntuch Ernst and Brandlhuber Muck Petzet, combines 10 modern buildings, including seven residential buildings and three office buildings. The entire neighborhood will also be enriched with shops, restaurants and spacious green spaces. The historic Kunsthaus Tacheles will be transformed into a cultural center that reflects the vibrant creative spirit of the district, as reported by whitemad.pl.
A particularly notable project within this complex is a 140 square meter apartment on the fifth floor. It was designed with great attention to detail by the designers Agi Kuczynska and Iwetta Ullenboom. Their goal was to create an elegant, comfortable and expressive space that is ideal for families with children. A historic sofa from 1958, reupholstered in colorful Kvadrat fabrics, adorns the focal point of the living area, providing a charming contrast to light wood surfaces and minimalist, custom-made furniture.
A design to make you feel good
The apartment has a warm atmosphere created by a Flos pendant light and lime plaster on the walls. The kitchen, decorated in inviting nutmeg tones, features a stylish island with matching lighting from Poliform. This is where sculptural elements meet functionality: the table leg made of quartzite and the wall lights in the hallway made of the same material create special accents in the room.
A breakfast area with stools and a painting by Peter Maximilian Ronsdorf, which takes up the color concept, gives the apartment a special flair. The study features a height-adjustable chevron wood desk and a vintage Gilbert Marklund chair, while a cozy sitting area doubles as a bed.
The bedroom is dominated by luxurious green tones and stylish glass tables from Eikund, while the bathroom shines with furniture made of fine onyx and practical cabinets with built-in mirrors. The children's room impresses with tailor-made furniture, a climbing wall and tropical wallpaper that invite you to play and explore. Artworks by Eva Jablonski, Peter-Maximilian Ronsdorf and prints by Ka Mochi adorn the walls of the apartment and bring additional life to the rooms.
Modern architecture in Berlin
With its mix of historic and modern buildings, Berlin offers an exciting architectural landscape. The article on entwicklungsstadt.de highlights ten outstanding examples of modern architecture that show the city's diversity and innovative spirit. Projects such as the AERA in Charlottenburg with its impressive green roofs, the culture and commercial-oriented Carl Bechstein Campus in Moabit and the lively KALLE Neukölln are just a few highlights that illustrate the dynamism and creativity of the metropolis.
With investments in forward-looking projects, Berlin not only offers living space, but also a cultural location that combines art and community. The fact that the historic Tacheles plays a central role in this development makes the Am Tacheles complex an important part of Berlin's new urban development.
