Parmesan noodles conquer Berlin: Hype around Parmera grows frenzied!

Osthafen Berlin (Alt Stralau 1-2), Deutschland - Berlin is becoming more and more a land of milk and honey for street food fans, and this is not least due to new culinary developments such as the Parmesan noodles, which was brought to the streets of the capital by Üveys Gökmen, a 35-year-old entrepreneur. Born from his passion for Italian cuisine, the food truck "Parmmera" has caused a sensation since 2018 at the Hackescher Markt and in Boxhagener Platz. The idea is as simple as it is ingenious: pasta that is pulled in a real parmes closet! People stand in long snakes to enjoy the delicious pasta in variations such as basil and lemon, tomato pesto or truffle oil. The hype around this meal is so large that Gökmen quickly developed a catering concept and is now also represented at well-known festivals such as "Rock am Ring" and Lollapalooza. Long snakes in front of the food truck are not uncommon.

In 2022, the first inpatient restaurant of Parmera was opened in the designer Outlet Berlin. And since this spring there have been two more locations in Berlin-Mitte, Münzstraße and Friedrichstrasse. These restaurants are primarily aimed at lunch break customers and tourists, while the prices here are higher than in the food truck. A Classic portion pasta now costs 9.90 euros. "I do very good business," says Gökmen, who also points out that his restaurant company is associated with higher rents and a team of up to six employees. There you will also find additional ingredients such as chicken strips and shrimp. The pasta is always freshly prepared and the parmesan comes directly from Italy. A personal favorite dish from Gökmen is a pasta with tomato pesto and truffle, while basil and lemon are particularly popular with customers.

Italian delicacies in Berlin

The love for Italian street food culture also attracts many people at larger events. One example is the Italian Street Food Festival 2023 , which took place on June 24th and 25th in Osthafen Berlin. The festival celebrated its fifth anniversary this year with almost 20 Italian stands and food trucks, which had a wide range of delicacies for more than 7,000 guests. The entry costs of only 4 euros, even free of charge for young people up to 16 years, made the event a popular destination.

Among the participating stands were found by well -known providers such as "Duo Sicilian Ice Cream", in the smoker from Pulled Pork and "Cicala Caffetteria Italiana". Visitors were able to look forward to innovations such as gluten -free pizza from Partenope 081 and fresh gnocchi by Aunt Ceccarelli. The festival not only offered culinary highlights, but also a colorful entertainment program with live music and hands-on activities for the whole family.

where you can find the best kebab variations

But not only Italian delicacies get their money's worth in Berlin. Boppstraße 10 in Kreuzberg houses the Imren restaurant, which is considered the best kebab in Berlin. Here you can take a place in a busy dining room and outdoors to enjoy freshly prepared dishes such as the crispy Lahmacun or the delicious kebab with salad and sauce. A perfect description of the Dürüm, a fleshy and juicy flatbread roller, rounds off the offer. The menu is supplemented by a hot lentil soup and various Turkish sweets.

The culinary landscape of Berlin is not only diverse, but also alive and full of surprises. Whether you feel like Italian pasta from Parmera or on juicy kebabs of imen, the food scene in the capital has something to offer for every taste.
